Vivemos no século da informação e da ciência. Ate ai, nenhuma novidade. A cada dia que passa, conceitos são atualizados de acordo com as novas descobertas que surgem e logo ganham o mundo através da internet. Com a ciência, que estuda o movimento humano, não poderia ser diferente. Atualmente, tem se olhado para os músculos de outra maneira.
Imagine que o corpo humano esta coberto por um tecido que forma uma capa protetora da cabeça aos pés. Agora imagine o que aconteceria se alguém ou alguma coisa puxasse esse tecido em algum ponto. Como consequência, isso levaria `a tensão ou `a deformação de outro local próximo ou não do ponto onde foi puxado, já que todo o tecido esta conectado. Pois é exatamente assim que se tem olhado para os músculos. Alem de tudo o que podem realizar individualmente, os músculos também exercem influencia continua em outras funções, integrando o corpo inteiro dentro de uma trama de tecido chamada Miofascia.
Essa trama de tecido forma as linhas funcionais que conectam grupos musculares e fornecem suporte, estabilidade, tensão e flexibilidade para que seus movimentos aconteçam de maneira eficiente e sua postura seja adequada, permitindo uma melhor performance tanto nas atividades esportivas quanto nas atividades diárias.
Entretanto, como qualquer outro tecido do corpo humano, a Miofascia pode sofrer deformações que podem alterar o funcionamento de toda a linha funcional, levando o individuo a sofrer alterações de postura ou a enfrentar a incapacidade de realizar movimentos simples. Todas essas modificações expõem pessoas a desequilíbrios relacionados ao baixo desempenho e as dores.
Na maioria das vezes, essas deformações são resultados de estresse, de exercícios que trabalham os músculos de forma isolada, de lesões, ou posturas inadequadas no ambiente de trabalho e tantas outras.
Em uma sociedade que vive os problemas da vida moderna e que necessita de alternativas para cuidar do corpo e da mente, cada dia mais é necessário o uso de uma abordagem que olhe para o individuo de maneira holística, buscando integra-lo. Assim sendo, o uso de técnicas manuais que visam reestabelecer o bom funcionamento do corpo apresentam-se como uma boa opção, já que propõem um treinamento funcional com movimentos variados que integram as funções `as capacidades físicas.
